A few weeks ago I was able to immerse myself in nature in the Arctic Circle. The animals were stunning and being so far away from any land at all was truly refreshing. I used this time to rebalance my energy, ground myself, and be present. This helps me continue to be a clear, balanced channel for your animals.
When I need to do this I always find places in nature and with animals. The energy in nature and with the animals is healing, uplifting, and peaceful. The animals help me expand.
I worry about the animals since the multiyear ice is melting. I was curious but somewhat hesitant to get their thoughts, opinions, and words of wisdom. The really great part about animals is they all are here to teach us. Wild animals that are not part of my everyday life still had messages for me personally.
Collectively though, here are the most important messages from them, to all of us. And, the most impactful thoughts I have walked away with.
* Animals DO NOT want to be in captivity. I have never supported/visited zoos, even the “good ones”. We forget as humans (if that’s all we see) that animals are completely different in the wild. Though natures can be harsh, the energy of the animals, their well- being, their happiness is obvious. You don’t realize how much captivity changes them until you see them in the wild. There is no comparison. None. They confirmed this.
Seeing them in a zoo allows you see how beautiful they are physically. Seeing them in the wild allows you to see how beautiful they truly are and who they truly are, beyond physical beauty. It also changes your life.
* Animals are smarter than many want to acknowledge.
On the way to the arctic circle we stopped briefly in Svalbard. It was a site that was heavily used for whaling and for walrus hunting. After being hunted almost to extinction the walrus’ and whales stopped going to that island completely. Now years later, the male walrus’ have returned, the females never have.
They meet in a separate location for mating. The males return to the beach that was used for mass hunting, the females have not. Their young area born and raised in a location that has never been the site of hunting. Now this “knowing” is part of who they are, generations later.
Their messages were about deep reliance on their community and group harmony. Coexisting with everything around you. Seeing hope in every situation. All things we could use more of as humans.
* Seeing one of the most remote, untouched parts of this world has reminded me again how beautiful this world and it inhabitants are. How clear and refreshing the energy can be when not cluttered with human ego. It allowed me experience true presence and stillness.
* Despite the vastness of ocean and floating sea ice, and nothing more, there was always buzz (energy). Pure, constant, joyful, beautiful energy. It was invigorating! Animals were communicating with each other. Animals were ALWAYS happy. I didn’t see or meet one that was sad or angry. Why? They have freedom. They are unaffected by human interference.
* The animals don’t’t see humans often in the arctic circle to have fear, just curiosity. The birds flew by close enough to touch! I was able to look directly into their eye and my eye level and feel their joy. The polar bears stood up, looked at us, came closer, wanting to investigate. They only know good. It was a reminder of pure animals hearts are, it’s humans who change that in them based on how we treat them.
* Despite living in the harshest environment on earth they are eternally optimistic. Life has gotten harder for them because of the melting sea ice, but they still carry hope for a better tomorrow and trust in the flow of life. Their spirits are still optimistic. They are trying to adapt without blame. Their energy is still joyful. It was humbling to be part of. Imagine how much happier we would be if we saw hope after every harsh situation. Hope for a new way.
* Everything they do has purpose. Everything. Imagine how fulfilling our lives would be if we lived that way.
* Though they don’t see humans often, they were curious. They felt the difference in energy even from me. I got asked, why I was so busy. So busy, LOL?! I was literally just sitting and observing them, no other thoughts! But, that validates, even when we are still and peaceful, our energy is much more cluttered than animals. That’s why we need to work on presence. Imagine how our at home pets feel when we come home with all sorts of emotions? It helped me be even better for my animals at home.
* Even in the wild they all have personalties and tendencies. And they each know and respect each other for who they are. They don’t expect “Frank” to accept his tail being stepped on, he doesn’t like it. So they don’t do it. They don’t expect “Sally” to get out of the way, she doesn’t want to. They know “Simon” is going to be in the way, all the time, because he’s more social. They don’t try to change each other. They accept each other for who they are. Can we accept our pets for who they are and not try to “train” them into someone they don’t want to be?
* They want humans to learn. They know their habitant is changing. They know there will be necessary adaptations they need to make, and genetically many won’t have time. But they just want humans to learn a better way of living. To live in respect, oneness, and harmony with all living beings. To share, not own (the planet). They don’t want pity, they want us to learn a better way and to awaken.
What I will carry most from this trip, from Antartica, from Observing wild silverbacks I the mountains of Rwanda, from true safaris in Africa, is seeing how different animals are when they are living the life they are meant to live. Freedom, space, no restrictions, rules, or human interference. They are not all like the animals we see in zoos or wild life centers. They only feel joy and optimism. It inspires me to protect the beautiful world we live in and all its animal inhabitants even more.
Though we must take care of the animals that are not wild (including strays), imagine how much better our domestic animals lives could be if we as a society treated them as individual beings that live along side of us, instead of possessions that we try to make into what we want them to be.
As always it was life changing, soul awakening, and energetically balancing. Like every time before I have come back even more in awe and in love with animals. I don’t know how it’s possible but it always happens. I’m even more passionate about helping humans live more understandingly and more harmoniously WITH animals. Not in a position of ego or power, instead walking side by side, together, as one.
