Here’s a tip for anyone that is or has recently adopted a new animal (or purchased!)
Every animal in a new home should be treated like they know nothing at all.
What you’ve been told about them, doesn’t matter.
Their history doesn’t matter.
What you think they know or dont, doesn’t matter.
If you treat them like they know nothing, nothing at all, not even anything basic, your communication will be SO much more clear.
You will have patience.
You will give them more time.
You won’t make assumptions.
They won’t get as confused.
You get to teach them about your home and family instead of expecting them just to know.
It’s a win-win for everyone.
It’s what they deserve. Why? Because no two homes, families, or situations are the same. No two homes, families, or situations communicate the same or have the same expectations. So, when you welcome a new animal into your family… they literally don’t know a thing about how to live with you or about life with you. So treat them like they don’t…. Because they don’t.
Need help understanding how your new animal feels? A reading can help SO MUCH! It will give you all the information you need! I have some time this week!
